Responsibilities

Financial Strategy and Planning

  • Work closely with the FD/CFO to shape and refine financial strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and international expansion plans.
  • Develop financial models to support decision-making across product and consultancy revenue streams.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and scenario planning, ensuring financial strategy supports growth across multiple markets.
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities, providing strategic insights to enhance financial performance.

Financial Operations and Reporting

  • Oversee the monthly financial close process, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
  • Design and implement a structured monthly reporting framework, ensuring consistency across all business units, including UK and US operations.
  • Develop a management reporting pack that delivers financial insights, KPIs, and trend analysis for the FD/CFO and leadership team.
  • Ensure revenue recognition processes accurately reflect the complexities of long-term consultancy contracts, multi-currency transactions, and cross-border revenue streams.
  • Work with operational teams to track profitability, cost control, and resource utilisation across geographically dispersed projects.
  • Enhance financial visibility through data-driven dashboards and automated reporting solutions.

Commercial Finance and Business Performance

  • Support the FD/CFO in refining financial reporting structures, ensuring they evolve with the business’s changing needs across multiple locations.
  • Collaborate with commercial teams to develop pricing models, structure contracts, and optimise margins, considering international tax and financial implications.
  • Develop and refine performance metrics and KPIs to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Conduct profitability analysis across products and projects, identifying opportunities for efficiency gains and cost optimisation.
  • Work closely with project teams to analyse the financial performance of both existing and upcoming projects, providing data-driven recommendations.

Scaling Finance and Process Automation

  • Partner with the FD/CFO to improve finance processes, ensuring scalability as the company expands across multiple regions.
  • Evaluate and optimise financial systems, automation tools, and reporting platforms to enhance data accuracy and accessibility.
  • Streamline financial reporting and operational processes to improve efficiency across an international business model.

You should have:

  • A qualification as a fully Chartered Accountant (CIMA or ACCA).
  • At least five years’ experience in FP&A, commercial finance, or a similar role within a fast-paced, growth-focused environment.
  • Strong financial modelling, forecasting, and strategic planning skills.
  • Expertise in revenue recognition, contract-based financial management, and project costing across multiple geographies.
  • Experience in developing monthly financial reporting schedules and management packs for leadership teams.
  • Ability to collaborate with the FD/CFO, project teams, and business stakeholders to refine reporting and drive performance insights.
  • Hands-on experience with financial systems, automation, and data visualisation tools such as Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or NetSuite.
  • Experience managing multi-entity financial operations and handling cross-border financial complexities.

It would be great if you have:

  • Experience scaling finance operations in a technology, product development, or consultancy-based business.
  • Knowledge of project accounting and cost tracking for large-scale consultancy engagements.
  • Background in owner-managed or entrepreneurial environments with a hands-on approach.
  • Exposure to international finance, multi-currency reporting, and cross-border financial planning.
